my first work of visual art, made for a sculpture class at Northwestern in 2019. The yellow felt element was a “saturnian alien” that I made for a science project in 4th grade. The gooey scaffolding is mostly composed of hot glue, scorched insulant foam, headliner adhesive, spraypaint, and wire. The entire sculpture is fitted around a large elongated fiberglass mannequin head that I bought from a woman off craigslist in the chicago suburbs. The “alien” is facing a found photograph of Jeffrey Rosenfeld, a Northwestern alumni from the 1990s.
